Naomi Gohlke, 91, of Sea Isle City, NJ and Newark, DE, formerly of Souderton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Elkton, MD. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to the late Daniel John Gohlke who died in 2006.
Born in Kumry, PA, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Sally (Rosenberger) Ackerman.
A homemaker for most of her life, in her earlier years she was employed at His Nibbs Clothing Factory in Telford making children’s clothing.
Mrs. Gohlke was associated with the Laymen’s Home Missionary Movement in Chester Springs, PA. She was an accomplished cook and herbalist, interested in vitamins and health foods.
She is survived by a son, Daniel James Gohlke and his wife Cathy of Elkton, MD, two grandchildren: Elisabeth Gardiner and her husband Tim of Sterling, VA; Daniel Joshua Gohlke, of Chengdu, China; a brother, Leroy Ackerman and his wife Dorothy of Gilbertsville. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, 33 N. Main St., Telford, PA 18969. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville. Family will receive friends from 10-11 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Laymen’s Home Missionary Movement, 1156 St. Matthew’s Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425.
