|Durell Hager, of Telford, PA, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp., PA. He was 71.
He was the husband of Delpha L. (Lynn) Wagner Hager. The couple had celebrated their 42nd Wedding Anniversary on May 16, 2012.
Born on April 14, 1941, in Blooming Glen, PA, he was a son of the late Adin and Anna (Charles) Hager.
He owned and operated Hagerís Plumbing and Heating for many years. Following the closing of his plumbing business, he was employed by Telford Borough in its Maintenance Department. Then, he was the maintenance supervisor for MOPAC, Souderton, PA, and later worked as a truckdriver for Dave Goshow Woodworking, Souderton, until retiring in 2005.
Mr. Hager attended First Baptist Church of Perkasie for 40 years. His greatest joy was participating in the Retired Menís Breakfast Club and serving as a Church Greeter.
Mr. Hager was a lifetime member, past president and past vice president of the North Penn Goodwill Service, Souderton, PA. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Morwood Gun Club as well as the Great Swamp Rod & Gun Club. He also was Rawd of the Grundsow Lodge No. 9, Dublin, PA. His other interests included boating and camping, and he especially loved taking his 5-year-old great grandson, Caleb, fishing.
Surviving with his wife are five stepchildren, Fred Wagner and his friend Pat, of Chemung, NY, Roger Wagner and his wife Kathi, of Succasunna, NJ, John Wagner and his wife Janet, of Quakertown, PA, Larry Wagner and his wife Linda, of Pennsburg, PA, and Diann Kerver and her husband Michael, of Telford; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; a brother, Willard Hager, of Albuquerque, NM; and a sister, Shirley Hager and her companion, Ozzie Renninger, of Barto, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Hager; a stepson, Richard Wagner; a sister, Lois Grace and her husband Tom; and his sister-in-law, Floss Hager.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Services to be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 20, 2012, in the First Baptist Church of Perkasie, 1600 N. Fifth Street, Perkasie, PA.
Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville, PA.
Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, or Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until service time at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Perkasie Building Fund, 1600 N. 5th St., Perkasie, PA 18944.
